Us Winter Bikers

“You winter bikers are insane.”
Rob chuckled a little, eyes gazing widely out into his imagination, causing his fingers to tighten around his freshly-brewed cup of joe.
“I don’t know how you all do it.”

By staying warm, I explained. Just like dressing up to go skiing, down to wearing thermals, layers, a windbreaker, ski gloves, and ski goggles.

I was glad to see that even my insane nephews’ first thoughts when it snowed in Tokyo, Japan last week were to grab their push-bikes and go for a ride:

See? It’s not so bad. If these little guys can ride in the winter, so can you.
